The Journey Born 1957 in Bielefeld (Germany), I studied medicine and worked as a neurosurgeon for more than 30 years. Neurosurgery is a discipline of precision, empathy, and resilience. My path began at University Hospital Erlangen, leading me through University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein/Kiel and University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresden to my former role as Head of the Neurosurgical Department at Klinikum Chemnitz. Throughout my career, I have viewed the operating theater not just as a place of medical intervention, but as a space of profound human resonance. This project is my way of capturing those quiet, intense moments where science meets humanity. Now retired, I live in Chemnitz and Mildenau (Germany), pursuing my passion for photography, nature and travel.
